Lesson 1. Greetings and Introductions. May 27th, 2005
The Bob and Rob Show’s first lesson! We talked about our first names, U.K. geography and greetings that are used when meeting someone for the first time. We also gave examples of American and British words that refer to the same thing.
Our names: The name ‘Robert’ is English; ‘Roberto’ is Italian or Spanish. ‘Robert’ can be shortened to ‘Rob’ or ‘Bob’; ‘Robbie/Robby’ and ‘Bobby/Bobbie’ also come from ‘Robert’.
Greetings: A: Nice to meet you. B: Nice to meet you, too. OR A: How do you do? B: How do you do?
