On this show we briefly talked about our weekend before discussing the future tenses and some of the differences between ‘will’ and ‘going to’.
Point 1: they can be used in the same situation many times, so beginners should not worry about mistakes with them. Point 2: If a future situation is connected to the present, use ‘going to’. If there is no connection to the present, use ‘will’. Point 3: When talking about plans, intentions or decisions, use ‘will’ if you make the decision as you speak. Use ‘going to’ if you have already made the decision.
Example: A: Could you help me clean? B: Sure, I’ll wash the dishes. A: Could you help me clean? B: Sorry, but I’m going to meet my friend now.

Here is some other vocabulary that we used: Siamese twins: twins who are physically joined to one another. Spur of the moment: deciding or doing something suddenly (without necessarily thinking about it).
