Preview: On this show we talked about agreeing or disagreeing with short answers. Also, we talked about the history of some words such as “guy” and Bob’s family name “Diem”, as well as the misguided reason why some people sometimes refer to Native Americans as Indians.
First, Rob briefly tried to answer a question about verbs that do not use “ing”. This list is by no means complete but still useful: hate, like, dislike, love, want, prefer, wish, be, know, have (possess).
“Me too” and “So am I/ So do I” are often interchangeable.
e.g., I’m hungry - Me too / So am I
Note: We can say “me too” or “you too” but we can not use other pronouns such as “he too” or “they too”.
Either can be pronounced 2 ways in both British or American English. “Not” plus either is the same as “Neither”. e.g., I can’t speak Chinese - Neither can I / I can’t either.
Sorry song: Sarah Stiles, “Sorry” Lyrics: Sorry I dont know what came over me Those words I said were wrong Anger was misplaced Excuses don’t make my case Let me say I’m sorry I don’t know what came over me
Song at end of show: Kristen Dare, “Either Way” Link:
Either way.
Lyrics:
We can talk without talking and waste both our time Or we can sit here in silence pretending we’re fine. We can point all our fingers ’till no one’s to blame Or we can make declarations of how we will change.
Either way I’m still loving you. Either way I’m still here for you. Either way I’m accepting you. Either way.
We can be in this prison and write on the walls Or we can cherish the freedom of having it all. We can pour out our feelings in reason and rhyme Or we can hinder our healing and never know why.
I will take you hand even when I don’t understand you.
We can live without trying and watch it go by Or we can see that we’re dying and hope to survive.
Either way I’m still loving you. Either way I will want for you. Either way I’m forgiving you. Either way. Either way I will run to you. Either way I will carry you. Either way I’m still loving you. Either way I’m still loving you. Either way I’m still loving you. Either way.
