“to take down” has several meanings: 1) it can mean to remove something from a high position. e.g.: take that book down; take down that book. 2) it can mean to write from dictation or to write something down on something. e.g: take this down please. 3) it can mean to move someone or something to a lower position. e.g: I should take Bob down.
