Of all the bands in all the gin joints in all the world, The Heroine Sheiks play the most atmospherically evil music ever recorded. Shannon Selberg (lead singer of the gone--but maybe reformed?--noise rockers The Cows) is a minor genius. And for my taste the Sheiks surpass the Cows. Mostly because that atmosphere trumps the head banging. This evil song starts "There are three strangers and they're in danger." Annie X, Danny, Loreli...hmmm...that's all the excuse I needed.
