Like all rappers who explode out of nowhere, rack up millions of YouTube hits, then sign a million-dollar deal with a major, Kreayshawn has decided the best way to cement her reputation is to team up with Joel and Benji Madden, the pop-punk goons from Good Charlotte. Taken from the Madden Brothers' new mixtape Before Volume 1, Firetruck doesn't find the California-native rapping over crunching guitars. Instead it's a distant cousin of her breakthrough hit Gucci Gucci, featuring rapid-fire drums, bouncing basslines and a rapping style that suggests she's reading a lyrics sheet, but somehow works perfectly when she delivers lines as borderline awful as "I'm the fucking heater/ You know you want to eat her/ That spicy señorita."
