This is a sad event where the UN were supposed to be protecting the population of the town from serbian militia in the 1993 bosnian wars. The united nations defenders did not put up any resistance and 8,000 muslim men were killed. Some ukrainian soldiers served with the united nations (quite bravely I believe) , but the overall effect was bad for the citizens of srebrenica.

I think there were only 6 ukrainian soldiers there among 400 UN ones. Its less about those 6 men but more about the idea of valour having something to fight for etc - nit sure what the other bit is - can really remember the song now.
