Now this ol' yankee doodle needed a change so he hopped him a bus out of the city paid the large fee for a greyhound bus a total of 150 now he had no clue where he would do he just new he had to get out so he waved goodbye to the ol' NY wound himself down in the south
go on and JUMP JUMP go on now JUMP
now he didn't have a single dime to his name just a pocket full of dreams found him a cot in a real nice spot yeah the shelter kept him off of the streets after many months of lookin around putting applications everywhere he gave in to his demons and finally started schemin found himself down at the peer and the people said JUMP go on and JUMP JUMP Come on now JUMP
Yeah this city slicker got lost up in the scheme started thinking but the songs his pops use to sing he thought about himself himself as tears filled in his eyes released he never actually told his pops goodbye thought about his moms and how she would never aprove stepped down from the ledge and started singing some country tunes flipped up his collar put on his elvis hips and everybody was amazed by the sound from his lips
While he stood the on the peer he just couldnt beleive the folks standing around But those people were in awe a man with such talent could ever be this down so they all lead him back away from the edge and kept him singing his songs put him up on a stage to release the rage till all but one song was gone
he sang
I'm gonna be a big star someday and I only have you wonderful folks to thank see I was born believing I had to die but your encouragement has opened my eyes
