Awake in the rest He bought

Oh, in my Father’s house
I, I am not second best
And there’s no one here to taunt me
No hurting words or insults come my way,
And the past is just a memory
Just an echo of the voice that seemed to say
"I have led you all the way."

And in my Father’s house there’s peace
And I know that it will never cease
I have waited for so long
To spread my wings.

But, here in my Father’s house
I’m free at such an awesome cost
The body of my Savior hanging
lifeless as the sins that clung to me
Has sprung to life with new meaning & broken
every chain that held me from my destiny
I am home free.

And in my Father’s house there’s peace
And I know that it will never cease
I have waited for so long,
To spread my wings - here in my Father’s house
