Story behind the song:
The composer, Edwin Leo Mokodompit was the Indonesian Youth Delegate at the 6th UNESCO Youth Forum (UYF), which took place in Paris in 2009. Leo composed Youth Drive Change shortly before attending the 7th UYF as a conference speaker in September 2011. At the 7th UYF, he met up with Xing Chiu (Canadian Youth Delegate at UYF6 and speaker at UYF7), Teddy Dwight Frederick (Grenadian Youth Delegate at UYF7), and Patricia Maria Mbalwe (Zambian Youth Delegate at UYF7), then came up with the idea to collaborate on producing a song that embodied the inspirational messages of the UNESCO Youth Forum. The four singers recorded their voices in their respective countries after the conference. The files were then compiled and mixed by Leo’s best friend, Hendy Goeltoem, one of Indonesia’s emerging music directors; and further enhanced with the contribution of young and talented Indonesian singers Rina, Ida, and Cindy.
