Characters:
1. Presumptuous, confirmed in God, Christ and Holy Spirit, figure of "man".
2. Malevolent, unholy figure with evil intentions - "the tempter"; shown here not as a single person, but also like a society that lives in sin and disbelief.
Part 1
"The tempter" urges man that all he lives for is transparent lie and professes false moral ideals. "Man" complains, saying that without any divine support he will be unable to resist any desires "of the world, the flesh and the devil". Nevertheless, he is fully confident in his belonging to something celestial and immaculate.
Part 2
Years passed; "man" gets old and realizes that "the tempter" was right; he seeks after him, but vainly."Man" gives up at last, he is begging "the tempter" to alter him, and finally, to release. He realizes that the only one who can do this is himself in fact.
Part 3
Desperate, hopeless, with a foreboding of a tragic consequence, "man" departs. He abandons his habitat, his paternal home that put him to the "straight and narrow"; with a promise that he will never revert.
