DJ Vibes is up there with the scene's most popular DJs and has represented happy hardcore from day one. Everybody who has ever been to a rave, has at one time, been charged from the uplifting power of Vibes’ music and personality.

In the studio, with Wishdokta's knack for creating slick amen breaks, hefty rolling basslines and soulful breakdowns (showing Vibes' musical roots), the pair released many records on several labels including, Impact Records, Rogue Trooper, Kniteforce, Just Another Label and his own labels Ravers Choice & Asylum Music Inc. The first record Vibes & Wishdokta made together was 'Sing It Loud' and on the flip they had their initial breakthrough hit, the massive crossover anthem, 'Obsession'. This track was played by both hardcore and jungle DJs such as Billy 'Daniel' Bunter and Grooverider. Their stunning remix of Sunshine Productions' 'Above The Clouds' is a personal favourite of mine and one my earliest memories of hardcore. Vibes adapted to the movement of the scene and when 4 beat was added to the breakbeats, the big releases kept on coming. The mighty Ravers Choice volumes 1 & 2 went toe to toe with Slipmatt's SMD guise as being the original sounds of happy hardcore.

In a recent interview Vibes stated that he wouldn't be where he is today without Wishdokta's early production talents.

As a DJ, Vibes knew what the crowd wanted and in my opinion was a genius at track selection. If you have never heard or seen the last track by him at the final official Helter Skelter, Millennium Jam, check it out. Amazing stuff.

His solid, 20 year old partnership with MC Livelee is still going strong to this day and a firm favourite set with any crowd.

I've been lucky enough to meet Vibes a couple of times, in the UK and Ibiza and all I can say is what a great guy and absolute legend of the rave scene he is!
