And did it my way.

И в этом, видит Бог,

Да, это так, горазд был я
Брать слишком много на себя,
Но и тогда
Я не хандрил
И нёс свой крест по мере сил,
Не пасовал, удар держал
И был собою.

Я знал восторг и боль,
Смеялся всласть, любил и плакал.
Пускай подстыла кровь,
Я этих дней вдыхаю ладан.

Я, право ж, был в седле,
Сказал бы даже, стал звездою ..
Но нет, судить не мне -
Я был собою.

У нас, мужчин один удел,
Собою быть, или ничем,
Дерзать и правду говорить,
Не гнуть колени, не скулить.
Я в жизни снёс немало гроз
И был собою.

Да, я был собою.
