The tape part was realised in the composer's studio, practically all sounds on tape were derived from flute-, trumpet- and clarinet sounds. My goal was to create a dialogue between live instruments and tape in such a way that one is a counterpoint to the other. The tape is actually the fourth performer and musically speaking, of equal importance. The blending of the instruments and tape is intentional, makings it sometimes difficult to distinguish one from the other. The title refers to the way sound is produced on the instruments involved and the way these sounds are, so to speak, given back to the instruments after they have been manipulated electronically.
