Under the impression of the Jean Giono’s story "The Man Who Planted Trees", I could finally finish this track. First, I looked an animated adaptation by Frédéric Back, so it had a double affect on me. It was like a breath of fresh air, a long-playing inspiration.
The shepherd, after being widowed, decided to restore the ruined ecosystem of the isolated and largely abandoned valley by single-handedly cultivating a forest, tree by tree. His name is - Elzéard Bouffier. He makes holes in the ground with his curling pole and drops into the holes acorns that he has collected from many miles away. Over four decades, Elzéard Bouffier continues to plant trees, and the desolate valley in the foothills of the Alps was turned into a Garden of Eden.
