DJ Kwala began her career in 1996, only 15 at the time. Since then, she has spun everywhere from underground hip-hop parties to massive dance floors, and her eclectic sound has been known to impress turntablists and house heads alike.

She has graced the decks at countless venues in New York, in addition to events in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., Barcelona and Havana. Kwala is also a co-producer of the event Iron DJ, an innovative DJ competition, and is beginning to produce her own music.

Kwala is currently a graduate student pursuing her PhD in Communication and writes about club culture.
