Shankar:
I especially composed this piece for my 14-year-old daughter Anoushka, who is both beautiful and talanted. It is based on the "Raga Khamaj". "Adarini" literally means a female pet who is both adorable and huggable - qualities which perfectly describe Anoushka. I hope to give her all the musical knowledge that I posess for as long as I live. The Gat is played in medium tempo teental (16 beats) and the Jhala in fast teental.
